Welcoming David Monheit, M.D, Our First Psychiatrist

Pliner Psychological Associates welcomes David Monheit, M.D., a board certified psychiatrist, to provide psychiatry, including medication management services. We are excited to have our psychologists collaborate directly with Dr. Monheit in order to develop comprehensive treatment plans for our clients that include both therapy and prescribing of psychiatric medication. Dr. Monheit received his B.A. at the University of Pennsylvania, his M.D. at Hahnemann Medical College, and completed his residency in adult psychiatry at the Medical College of Pennsylvania. With the addition of psychiatric services we have enhanced our ability to provide quality care and support at Pliner Psychological.

Creation of Parenting Workshop: Behavior Management 101

Pliner Psychological Associates is hosting a 3-hour workshop designed to help parents who are feeling stressed, anxious, or overwhelmed by dealing with their kids. The workshop will be led by Dr. Michael C. Cassano, Ph.D., a licensed psychologist who specializes in working with parents, children, teens, and families who are experiencing problems such as ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, aggression, anxiety, and depression.

Dr. Debra Margulies Pliner Forms Pliner Psychological Associates, LLC

After running a successful practice as a solo practitioner for several years, Dr. Debra Margulies Pliner has expanded her practice and has formed Pliner Psychological Associates. Dr. Pliner has brought together a well-rounded team of mental health professionals, which allows for a more diverse range of skills and areas of expertise to further assist the community. Pliner Psychological Associates provides a warm, supportive, and accepting atmosphere where people can feel safe and secure to work on a variety of issues or concerns.

The staff at Pliner Psychological Associates includes psychologists and a licensed professional counselor, who can help you deal with issues such as depression, stress and anxiety, anger management, weight management, career counseling, support for autism, substance abuse, family problems, pain management, and a number of other circumstances that might lead a person to seek help. Pliner Psychological Associates welcomes our new clinicians; including Dr. Jessica Goodman, a licensed psychologist who specializes in addiction and recovery, relationship formation/couples counseling, gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgendered issues, career counseling, adult development, stress and coping, and positive psychology; Dr. Heather DeGroot a licensed psychologist who works with adults, children, and teens and specializes in behavior problems, autism (including evaluations), couples therapy, and family therapy; and Angela Neas, a licensed professional counselor who specializes in couples dealing with communication issues, social skills groups for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, families, children and adolescents with emotional/behavioral disorders, group therapy for adults coping with chronic illness and pain, anxiety, and women’s issues.
